Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) in New York City is the industry association for consumer magazines. MPA was established in 1919 and represents about 225 domestic magazine publishers - an estimated 1,000 titles / 50 international companies and more than 100 associate members. Staffed by magazine industry specialists, MPA also has an office of government affairs in Washington, DC.
Newspaper Association of America (NAA) in Washington D.C. is a nonprofit organization representing nearly 2,000 newspapers and their multiplatform businesses (daily newspapers, non-dailies, other print publications and on-line products) in the U.S. and Canada. Focusing on major issues affecting their industry, NAA was formed in 1992, by the merger of seven associations: American Newspaper Publishers Association, the Newspaper Advertising Bureau, the Association of Newspaper Classified Advertising Managers, the International Circulation Managers Association, the International Newspapers Advertising and Marketing Executives, the Newspaper Advertising Co-op Network, and the Newspaper Research Council.
